Indoor Activities in Kelowna for a Rainy Day

Posted on October 15th, 2022 in The Shore Recommends, Things to Do in Kelowna

Fewer and fewer sunny days means the kids aren’t getting out to burn off all the extra energy that they always seem to have. But don’t worry – there’s plenty to do around town, even when the weather’s not so great. Check out our list of the best indoor activity options in Kelowna for families to keep kids and adults occupied and amused.

Movie Theatres in Kelowna

Movies theatres are an easy go-to for staying entertained on a rainy afternoon. Whether you’re looking for the latest blockbuster or feel nostalgic for vintage classics, there are a few cinemas around town to choose from.

For a traditional movie experience, take the kids out to enjoy the latest blockbuster at the Cineplex at Orchard Plaza. Load up on popcorn and candy or grab dinner in the mall before you go in. Their reclining leather chairs with extended footrests are the comfiest cinema seats in town.

If you’re looking to make a night out of it, enjoy some food at the newly-opened Bernie’s Supper Club and Cinema’s restaurant, then head up to the theatre to catch one of their retro or newly-released films. They have a great cocktail list and minors are allowed until 10pm.

Indoor Mini Golf

Visit Scandia Golf & Games in Kelowna for some whimsical and nostalgic fun. Their indoor jungle-themed course features 18 holes of just-challenging-enough mini putt. Get a hole in one on the last hole for an extra free game. Bonus: if the weather’s nice, hit the outdoor course. It’s one of the largest and most beautiful in Canada.

Indoor Freestyle Sports

If you’re really looking to burn off some energy, Airhouse in Kelowna is the place to go. From freestyle trampolines to parkour and gymnastics, as well as an indoor skateboarding space – the Airhouse has it all. Perfect for even the most energetic individuals.

Just down the road you’ll also find McCurdy Bowling, the Energyplex, Arcadia Virtual Reality Lounge, and Landmark Grand 10 Cinemas. All grouped together in the same complex for optimal rainy-day fun.
